--densify_table

Switch

--densify_table ROW_COLUMN COL_COLUMN VALUE_COLUMN

Description

Pivots a long-format table (e.g. a feature table, with group_id, feat, group_norm-style rows) into a dense, wide csv — one row per distinct value of ROW_COLUMN, one column per distinct value of COL_COLUMN, filled with VALUE_COLUMN.

Argument and Default Value

Exactly three column names (nargs=3): row column, column column, value column. Default: None.

Details

Known issue — always crashes, in both MySQL and SQLite modes. OutcomeAnalyzer.tableToDenseCsv() calls mm.executeGetList1(self.corpdb, self.dbCursor, row_sql, charset=..., use_unicode=..., mysql_config_file=self.mysql_config_file), but mysqlmethods.executeGetList1()'s actual signature is (db, dbCursor, sql, warnQuery=False, charset=..., use_unicode=...) — it has no mysql_config_file parameter at all. Verified: running this switch against a table that otherwise exists still fails immediately with TypeError: executeGetList1() got an unexpected keyword argument 'mysql_config_file', before any SQL is even generated. This is a plain Python argument mismatch, not a database-dialect issue, so it is not specific to SQLite mode.

Other Switches

Required Switches:

  • -d, -t, -g

  • -f or another existing table

Example Commands

Not usable as of this writing — see Known issue above.
